Overview (in Spanish): Insurance is a broken industry. Rife with conflict of interest and wasteful spending, it has long lost touch with its mission, protect people. Customers pay religiously every year and when it comes to the moment of truth, when they have a problem, they always give them the runaround. This happens because traditional insurers make money when they say no to customers. Coconut is a new type of insurer. We have built a new business model in which we only keep a flat fee. All the rest goes to protect our customers. And when there is money left over, instead of keeping it, we donate it to NGOs, so there is not conflict of interest, since we will never keep that money anyway.
